Since 2010, Helikos has drawn students from all over the world to participate in an advanced professional training in theatre creation and movement theatre.
Our student population is diverse in age and country of origin. Helikos students range in age from 24 to over 70, and they have brought their bags from Italy, Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, UK, Turkey, Russia, USA, Argentina, South Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand. The thing they have in common? The desire to participate in a rigorous conservatory movement training program and to become poets of gesture.
Helikos sits in the midst of the city of Florence, and Tuscany, with its extraordinary artistic and cultural heritage, which constant reminds the visitor of the glorious times of Italian Renaissance, Il Rinascimento.
Contemporary Florence holds the vitality, charms and contradictions of contemporary Italy. Every year, Helikos students develop their own unique experience of this unique city.
